SP / Specialist projects / Footbridge engineering
This kind of intervention can be divided into two distinct types of projects, pedestrian walkways in an urban setting and those in a natural setting:
Owing to the density of urban road networks and the built environment, long large-scale walkways are often the most practical solution for pedestrian and cyclist mobility schemes in towns.
In the natural environment, opposite banks of a river or other kinds of obstacle can be linked via a simple suspension footbridge. They can also be used to provide pedestrian access to tourist sites.
